Van Loskoski is a transformative healthcare leader with 14 years of experience specifically in rural hospital administration. He has worked as a population health analyst, medical practice administrator, and for the last 4 years as the CEO of Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, GA. His background is a unique blend of work first as an Engineer before changing career paths into healthcare. As such, he approaches his work with an analytical and process-oriented methodology which has served to ensure that decisions made are cemented in data and that outcomes can be predicted with accuracy. Van turned his career-path to healthcare after developing a neurological disorder and finding an affinity for the passion he saw displayed in his care-team at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. His graduate work in Medical Microbiology studying infectious diseases provided a unique opportunity for him to better understand the work needed to be done in research and found that to be greatly deficit in rural areas. He now works exclusively in rural healthcare with a proven track record of increasing access to care, advancing service lines through strategic partnerships and by leaning into advances in technology, specifically within the realm of Artificial Intelligence. He is very involved in advancing healthcare priorities now through lobbying at the state and federal level. Personally, Van has a wife, Courtney, and son, Calvin, and they have called Athens Georgia home for the last 4 years; a somewhat difficult pill to swallow for the Georgia Tech graduate.
